Maine Two Foot Style Equipment

This is a reproduction of the Baldwin JAMES WYMAN engine. The model is 40 inches long. The engine alone weighs 12 pounds. The tender is made of wood and contains batteries and radio controls.

This 0-4-4 is modeled after the KC No. 2 Porter forney engine. The frame was custom made for me by Steve King. Boiler and domes also were made by Steve. The rest was made in the PCRR shop. The batteries are in the boiler, radio and sound pack are in the tender.

This 2-4-4 was built for a friend and uses the frame and other parts from the James Wyman engine. Batteries, radio receiver and sound pack are all included.

While there were no Doodlebugs in Maine, I still liked the idea. This one is modeled after a standard gauge Brill Doodlebug. The body is acrylic, the trucks are Aristocraft 6 wheel.

The 551 caboose is based on Dave Cummins' construction article in Finescale magazine. The car measures 30 inches long.

The RPO is based on the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Coach No.5 plans by Ed Stinson.  The car is made of wood and is 36 inches long.  The trucks are from an Aristo diesel engine.

This photo shows the 2-6-0 pulling a train of eight cars. It measures about twenty-two feet in length.

This is a close-up of one of the gondolas. These cars are all wood with some parts from Ozark Miniatures. The trucks are Steve King's Diamond style trucks. I cut all of my own wood using both a table saw or band saw.

This cattle car was modeled after a Maine car. Drawings were supplied by Dave Cummins. I built two, one going to Steve King. The cow is not to scale.

Two of these cattle cars were built and now reside elsewhere.

This is a close-up of one of the box cars. The size is 7ft x 24 1/2ft or 6 1/4in x 28in. The rough look on the boards is obtained by using a band saw blade that has a couple of out-of-line teeth. Great effect at no cost. The hardware is the same as the gondola above.

The goose shown here has no prototype. Under the hood is a small 6v gel cell battery with a dpdt switch just in front of the runningboard for control. The journals are Ozark Miniatures. The drive was scavenged from an Aristo power block used on their FA diesels.

The speeder is built on a battery operated toy car. It uses a single double AA battery. The wheels were taken from a New Bright train.

The work car again has no prototype. The winch on the crane (OM) works. The rest is scratch built or scrap box parts. The trucks are Steve King's diamond style. The size of the car is the same as the box car shown above.

The crane started out in life as a 1:12 scale crawler, bucket crane fully radio controlled. that was eight inches wide. A band saw got it down to the required six inches wide then the real rework began. It is still radio controlled and has the capability to lift a car. I will eventually modify the boom.

Dasterdly deeds on the Pogoshock RR.
