Welcome to www.7-8ths.info.

This site is maintained and was developed by Ferd Mels.7-8ths.info has been created to help share ideas and inspiration to a small group of train modelers that have chosen 1:13.7 as their scale. With no commercial manufacturers producing models in 7/8ths scale, modelers have to either buy from small production cottage type industries, or build everything themselves, mostly from scratch.

Why 7/8ths scale ? I am sure each modeler has his / her own reasons for choosing this scale. The most common I am sure are :

• The size allows for great detail and is large enough to be rugged.
• Narrow gauge railways have an irresistible charm, that begs to be modeled.
