Stan Bray Vertical Boiler Locomotive
« on: April 10, 2012, 12:20:34 AM »
Hi,
I have been reading through a book by Stan Bray "Making Simple Model Steam Engines" which features a number of stationary engines. However the last design is for Vertical Boilered Locomotive. Whilst "16mm" (roughly) it would seem to lend itself for alteration to 1/12th or 7/8n2 ( perhaps 18). The only part I'd change around myself would be the boiler which by original design floats on round bar pillars with burner visible underneath. A suitable replacement might be Dave Watkin's Idris following a widening of the frames.

Best Regards,
Jonathan
